Services at More Hearing and Speech Clinics
At More Hearing and Speech Clinic, we are committed to offering a comprehensive range of advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services to address all types of hearing and speech-related conditions. With a focus on both early detection and advanced treatment, our clinic utilizes cutting-edge technology to ensure accurate diagnosis and effective care for patients of all ages. Below is an overview of the key services we provide:
Neonatal Hearing Screening (OAE)
Hearing loss can impact a child’s development from birth, so early detection is crucial. Our clinic offers oacoustic Emissions (OAE) ting, a quick, non-invasive screening tool used to assess hearing in newborns. This test measures sound waves produced in the inner ear (cochlea) in response to a stimulus, allowing us to detect potential hearing issues even in the earliest stages of life. Early intervention is key to ensuring your child’s healthy auditory and speech development.
Hearing Evaluation
We provide comprehensive hearing evaluations for patients of all ages, using a variety of advanced audiological tests to assess different aspects of hearing health. Our hearing evaluation services include:
Pure Tone Audiometry (P.T.A.)
Pure Tone Audiometry (P.T.A.) is the gold standard for assessing a person’s hearing ability. This non-invasive test measures how well an individual can hear sounds at different pitches and volumes, providing essential information about the presence, type, and degree of hearing loss. At More Hearing and Speech Clinic, we use Pure Tone Audiometry to accurately diagnose hearing issues and develop tailored treatment plans for patients of all ages.
Pure Tone Audiometry evaluates the hearing threshold for pure tones, or simple sounds, across a range of frequencies. The test determines the softest level of sound a person can hear at different frequencies (measured in Hertz, Hz) and intensities (measured in decibels, dB). This allows us to pinpoint the specific areas of hearing impairment and classify the hearing loss.
Impedance Audiometry (Tympanometry)
Impedance Audiometry, commonly known as Tympanometry, is a vital diagnostic test used to evaluate the functioning of the middle ear. At More Hearing and Speech Clinic, we utilize this advanced, non-invasive technique to assess how well the eardrum (tympanic membrane) and the small bones in the middle ear are functioning, helping to identify any issues that could lead to hearing loss or discomfort.
What is Impedance Audiometry?
Impedance Audiometry measures the resistance or compliance of the eardrum in response to varying air pressures applied to the ear canal. This test allows our audiologists to assess the health of the middle ear, including the movement of the eardrum and the conduction of sound through the middle ear bones (ossicles).

BERA (Brainstorm Evoked Response Audiometry)
The Brainstorm Evoked Response Audiometry (BERA) is an advanced, objective hearing test used to evaluate the function of the auditory nerve and the brainstorms response to sound. At More Hearing and Speech Clinic, we use BERA to diagnose hearing disorders, particularly in newborns, infants, young children, and individuals who are difficult to test through conventional methods. This test is crucial for identifying hearing loss at an early stage and ensuring timely intervention for proper auditory development.
BERA measures the electrical activity in the auditory nerve and brainstorm in response to sound stimuli. The test helps us determine if sound is being properly transmitted from the ear to the brain. It is especially useful for detecting sensorineural hearing loss or issues with the auditory pathway that may be affecting hearing and speech development.
ASSR (Auditory Steady-State Response)
Auditory Steady-State Response (ASSR) is an advanced hearing test used to assess hearing sensitivity, particularly in individuals who cannot provide reliable responses through traditional methods like Pure Tone Audiometry. At More Hearing and Speech Clinic, we use ASSR to measure the degree and type of hearing loss in infants, children, and patients with special needs or other communication challenges.
What is ASSR? ASSR is an objective test that evaluates how the brain responds to auditory stimuli, specifically modulated tones at different frequencies and intensities. This test measures the electrical responses of the auditory nerve and brainstorm when exposed to continuous sounds, allowing audiologists to determine hearing thresholds for various frequencies.

Speech Audiometry
Speech Audiometry is a crucial part of a comprehensive hearing evaluation, used to assess an individual's ability to detect, recognize, and understand speech. At More Hearing and Speech Clinic, we use this test to determine how well a person can hear and comprehend spoken language at different volume levels. This is important for diagnosing the type and degree of hearing loss and for tailoring treatment plans such as hearing aids or auditory rehabilitation.
EcochG (Electrocochleography)
Electrocochleography (EcochG) is a specialized diagnostic test used to measure the electrical activity of the inner ear (cochlea) in response to sound stimuli. This test is highly effective in diagnosing inner ear disorders, particularly conditions like Menderes disease, endolymphatic hydrops, and auditory neuropathy. At More Hearing and Speech Clinic, we use EcochG to evaluate the function of the cochlea and the auditory nerve, helping us provide accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans for various hearing and balance disorders.

Digital Hearing Aid trail and fitting
Digital hearing aid trials and fitting involve the process of selecting, testing, and customizing hearing aids to meet an individual's specific hearing needs. This process ensures that the hearing aids are comfortable, properly adjusted, and effective in improving the user's ability to hear and communicate. It typically involves several stages, including hearing assessments, the trial of different devices, fitting, fine-tuning, and ongoing follow-up care.
Benefits of the Trial and Fitting Process
The trial and fitting process offers several key benefits:
- Personalized fit and sound: Hearing aids are tailored to the individual's hearing loss and personal preferences, ensuring maximum benefit and comfort.
- Confidence building: The trial period allows users to gain confidence in using their hearing aids in real-world situations.
Pre and post Operative Evaluation Of Pediatric and Adult Cochlear Implant Services
The pre-operative and post-operative evaluation for pediatric and adult cochlear implant services is a crucial, multidisciplinary process designed to ensure that the cochlear implant surgery is appropriate for the candidate, to maximize outcomes, and to provide ongoing support for successful rehabilitation. These services involve a series of evaluations, tests, and support mechanisms both before and after the implantation.
